Our practice specializes in working with Black children ages 8 and older and their families, providing culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based mental health care. We understand that Black children and families often navigate unique challenges related to identity development, academic and social stressors, family dynamics, and the impact of racial and systemic inequities.
Therapy is offered in a supportive, structured environment where children feel safe, understood, and respected, and where caregivers are valued as essential partners in the treatment process. Our approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, integrating individual child therapy with family involvement as clinically appropriate.
Care for children ages 8+ is tailored to their developmental level and may include play-based, skills-focused, and talk therapy approaches, while also incorporating caregiver guidance and family sessions when beneficial.
Services are available through insurance-based care as well as private pay options for families seeking additional flexibility, discretion, or specialized treatment. Regardless of payment method, all families receive the same high standard of care grounded in clinical excellence, cultural humility, and respect. Supporting a child’s mental health is an investment in the well-being of the entire family. Black children deserve care that affirms their identity, nurtures their strengths, and supports their emotional growth.
